SCHOOL children and returned soldiers mingled in a special memorial service at Lang Lang.

The commemoration of Anzac Day was held on Friday.

Lang Lang Returned Services League (RSL) members joined students and teachers at Lang Lang Primary School and community representatives in honouring the contribution of Australias servicemen and women.

Assistant principal Michael Smythe said the service was an important event for the school and well supported in the wider community.

Max Papley addressed the gathering while Pam Glover played piano.

Lang Lang RSL president Keith Brown and branch members and their families were at the gathering.

Students were to march with veterans down the towns main street, but fears of wet weather meant the service had to be held indoors.
