STUDENTS at Pakenham Secondary College are hoping to roll into rock history.
The school has earned a berth among the grand finalists of the Rock Eisteddfod Challenge.
Pakenham will be joined by Beaconhills College and Berwick Secondary College in the grand final at the Rod Laver Arena on 30 August.
Pakenham performers scooped a brace of awards with their take on the four elements of earth, air, fire and water in the production of Gaia.
Cocoordinator Kintara Phillips said the school was excited to progress through to the grand final in only its second year of performing.
We ended up with 10 awards plus the general participation award that everyone gets, and it means we are going into finals with the most awards for any school who made finals, she said.
The local schools will compete against nine other colleges from across Victoria for the title of Rock Eisteddfod Open Champion 2006.
