BERWICK Opportunity Shop has given community organisations $199,000 from a years trading.

The shop at 3 Clyde Road, Berwick, near the intersection with High Street, is staffed and run by volunteers and relies on donations of goods.

Berwick Opportunity Shop president Adriana De Haan said the shop was appreciative of the donations and wanted to sincerely thank all who had donated goods over the past years.

Money raised from the sale of these goods is put back into the community by way of donation to a wide variety of recipients, she said.

These include fire brigades, SES groups, medical research, specialist childrens facilities, and organisations needing money to continue work in the community.

The volunteers, who give their time and energy, are proud of their shop because of its vital contribution to the community.
