THREE hardworking women have been honoured for their work for Red Cross.
Sharon Whiting and Jan Board have both notched up 20 years with the charity organisation and Audrey Dickson has recorded a decade of service.
Tribute was paid to the trio at the annual general meeting of the Garfield Red Cross unit on Monday.
Chairwoman Margaret Matthews said all were highly valued members of the unit.
Garfield Red Cross has a tradition of longevity. Mrs Matthews is approaching 45 years of service with the organisation with other members having notched up 40plus years.
We do our best, Mrs Matthews said.
Highlights of the past year including raising more than $3500 for Red Cross Calling while the unit has also raised almost $500 for the East Timor Appeal.
Mrs Matthews heads a committee that includes Jan Board (secretary),Thelma Teese (treasurer), Jennie Coventry (regional chairwoamn) and Maureen Cox (vice chairwoman).
