THE BERWICK Upper Beaconsfield Red Cross Unit has called for people to join its ranks and help with Red Cross work.

Secretary Jennie Coventry said the group decided during its August meeting that new members were needed.

Our group is becoming smaller and we would love to welcome anyone who feels they have time to help us, Mrs Coventry said.

We meet at 10am on the second Friday of each month in the RSL Hall, Berwick. Our annual membership fee is $5, but it is not necessary to be a financial member to help with our activities.

Mrs Coventry said the unit was involved in fund raising luncheons, major raffle ticket selling, March Red Cross Calling, collections of used stamps for sale at head office, Christmas card sales, helping at the Been Around Before shop, Pakenham, and Telecross that keeps in touch with elderly people.
